Mayor Ivy Taylor is rethinking San Antonio’s annexation plans.

In an exclusive story in the San Antonio Express-News, reporter Vianna Davila says the Mayor is proposing to annex only commercial corridors in targeted areas while leaving neighborhoods alone.

Those areas include U.S. 281 between Marshall Road and the county line, Interstate 10 West near Boerne and Camp Bullis.

San Antonio’s Southwest Research Institute has been awarded a $3.2 million contract by the U.S. Department of Energy.

Southwest Research will be involved in the testing of new technology that would provide a critical step toward making concentrated solar power plants commercially viable.

The Martin Luther King March route will not change.

District 2 Councilman Allan Warrick was proposing an idea to create five different routes, which would all converge at HemisFair Park.

But many people in his district were against the idea and formed a petition to recall the councilman.
